Tyrants Take 3rd Seed Despite Missing Pieces

After making some key trades in the off-season, including the addition of Jake Langlois and Jose Mulero, the Tyrants are looking to make a deep playoff run after only dropping one match, a five-setter, to eventual regular season champions, Team Freedom.

After somewhat of a rocky start in Event 1, the Tyrants swept L.A. Blaze before narrowly escaping with a 3-2 win over the Chicago Untouchables. The Tyrants continued to come together with a strong showing in a challenging Event 2, beating last year’s champions, the OC Stunners, 3-1, before an incredible 3-2 win over the Las Vegas Ramblers. Event 3 saw another great match, with their one and only loss coming to Team Freedom 3-2, before a 3-1 win over the Inland Empire Matadors. Event 4 saw them scrounge up a couple gritty wins without Langlois at the event and Gian Grasso out with injury during a 3-1 win against Southern Exposure and sweep over Seattle Sasquatch.

Event 5 saw the Tyrants clean house with another Blaze sweep and a 3-1 win over the Untouchables to seal their 3rd place overall seed. With Mulero running the show in the backcourt and Langlois and Grasso in good health, will Southern Exposure be able to pull off the upset with their power in the middle, or will play without starting outside Tyler Hubbard-Neil be the difference in the match?
