Exposure Comes Back To Secure A Playoff Spot

After sealing their playoff fate with a 3-0 sweep of the Inland Empire Matadors, Southern Exposure is heading into playoffs riding on the coattails of what can only be described as a roller coaster of a season.

After starting the season with a win against the Matadors in Event 1, Southern Exposure would go winless in Event 2, only to come away with their second win in Event 3 against the Chicago Untouchables. The Untouchables are one of four teams to not make the playoffs this year. A gritty win in Event 4 against the Utah Stingers would force Event 5 to be a do-or-die battle, having to win a match or go home. The pressure brought out the best in the young squad. After losing a close game to the 2nd placed team, the Las Vegas Ramblers, they quickly came back to beat the Matadors again, pushing them to 4-6 record on the year.

Narrowly snagging the 7 overall seed earned them a rematch with the Texas Tyrants, of which they lost 3-1 during Event 4. With a talented group of middles in Uchenna Ofoha, Tim Lourich, and Langston Payne, Exposure will need to pass well to maximize their offense. However, with Southern Exposure missing outside Tyler Hubbard-Neil and Texas Tyrants returning Jake Langlois, it will take a lot of guts for this team to pull off the upset.
